What you wrote, sir, helps people like me. I’m a fiction writer and am currently looking for a piece of idea for a story may friends and I need for a short film. Yet I haven’t got any clue. After I read your article, I realize that it isn’t about what’s in the end. It’s not about getting the good story, or making a good film. It never was. It’s a journey of learning and creating new things. Thank you, sir.

To give them a sense of being in a customer’s home, I collected all the stakeholders into a part of the building that was decorated and furnished like a self-contained flat.

First, we did some brainstorming in the ‘living room’. Then we moved to the ‘kitchen’ where I gave them a carrier bag full of household props. They each had to pick one and use it to inspire new ideas.

It definitely led to more creativity than just sitting at a desk in a meeting room.
