Thanks Luke, you are right of course. There are times when to explain something simply you end up having to use more words. Which can be frustrating when you’re working within tight word counts.

But often you do need to use more words to put something in everyday language – five words aren’t always better than ten. For example, in your article, you use the verb ‘to plain English something’. I’d say ‘to write something in plain English’.
