While written for copywriters, your list of client questions apply to other services, too. I’m a proofreader and found your advice to be equally appropriate for me – as well as valuable and timely.

Well done!

The contact form issue is interesting. I give potential clients a range of options – contact form, phone number (they can ring or text me) and email address. The contact form is a relatively recent addition (in the past four months), and the majority (70% according to current stats) of people who get in touch still choose to use this, even though they have other options. So I agree with you that we shouldn’t rely on the contact form as the sole method of communication, but I do think we should offer it as one option. That way, we cover the bases of all of our potential clients’ preferences.

I’ve seen lots of copywriter websites lately that are very simple (black and white, few pictures) and let the writing do the talking. Mine in contrast is quite busy with lots of images.

I do keep wondering whether I should update my site and opt for something simpler so your tips are very useful.

Thank you!
